Prepping and editing the second episode of Ordinary+

On the 26th April 2025 we created our second pilot episode of Ordinary+! Links at the bottom.

This time I put a little more planning into it, a framework if you like of the content Mike and I were going to talk about. When I was setting up the house where I live in readiness to record, I took some photos of the mess that came before the recording.

It’s not really surprising to me that there is a lot of work behind the scenes to create a podcast. The photos just show you one aspect, getting the gear ready, setting up the camera and laptop and screens and so on.

But there’s still more work to do after the recording. The post editing took a long time, even with our wish to have an authentic, relaxed and unedited recording! With this second episode being an hour long, you can imagine the time it takes to check the recording and add some music at the beginning and end. It took several hours.

Prepping the framework of the content

I woke up on Saturday morning at 4:30am and could not get back to sleep! So what did I do? I started writing the down general ideas of what we were going to talk about in this episode. That took at least an hour and then another hour when I met with Mike for coffee later.
